The New Inn is often praised for its great value for money and its position near attractions like Cropton Forest. Guests frequently enjoy the spacious rooms, sometimes even receiving upgrades to cottages featuring fully equipped kitchens and extras like log burners, and private gardens. Many appreciate the complimentary tea, coffee, and biscuits provided, as well as the wide choice of well-cooked options available at breakfast. sleeping above a pub was a wonderful experience for my wife and me the staff were very friendly i met wonderful people from wells we had really good beer and cider they even made a platter of cheese and crackers i especially liked the smashing breakfast it was warm and cozy the bathrooms were clean and upgraded. the pub sits in a beautiful area and you look out onto meadows
access to the pub was a little difficult due to the many staircases one had to use to get to our room it was especially difficult getting large suitcases up i understand that is natural when there are no elevators

The breakfast was AMAZING!!! It kept me going all day. The staff were friendly. They provided super service. This inn was also one of the cleanest establishments I have stayed in.
The room decor seemed old and tired. Trunking down the walls made it look like care was not taken in finishing the decoration. I also noticed wafer-thin curtains, and a light outside meant the room was lit up all night.

Solid stay in Yorkshire
bedroom cottagecomfy bedsequipped kitchendaily service
We were upgraded to the two bedroom cottage. It had all we needed. Beds were comfy, and the bathroom featured a good shower. The kitchen was fully equipped for dining. Staff cleaned the toilet and made beds daily. Biscuits were provided on the tea tray.
The beer garden was somewhat crowded on the weekend. This made finding a seat at peak times a bit difficult.
Rooms
9/10
The cottage included ample storage space for luggage. The log burner in the lounge added a cozy touch. A small garden offered a private outdoor area, complete with patio and barbecue.
Dining
8/10
Breakfast was included for both mornings of our stay. We chose to eat dinner at the pub. Food was excellent with satisfying portions, and the menu presented a good variety of options.
Service
9/10
The staff were helpful throughout our visit. They addressed our queries promptly and politely. The barman was quick to serve and always had a smile for us.
Facilities

The pub offers beautiful outside space with a beer garden. The beer garden had pond and surrounding garden. We enjoyed playing pool in the games room. The location enables short drives to popular attractions.
